Handbag!!!

Post 40

Todays card is a handbag card, the template comes from the Keepsake card craft Multibagz board. I've made quite a few of these bags over the years, but all were pre blogging days.
The base is some plain black card stock, embossed on the board and cut out twice to make the front and the back of the card.

The papers are from Pink Petticoat, from a collection called 'Marshmallow', it can't be seen on the photos but once I'd cut the paper out I inked around the edge with some pink ink.

I made the flower from some pink tissue paper and the Sizzix bigz die 'Flower, Daisys'. And stuck an embellishment in the centre I had in my stash.

The charm was made from some beads, clear thread and jump rings, I used some stamps and shrink plastic to make the number charm.

The name plate was an embellishment I bought years ago, I just printed off the sentiment and stuck it into the plate before attaching it to the card with pink brads.

The back needed something, so some more tissue flowers were cut from the 'Tattered floral' bigz die and the buckled came from the same kit the name plate had come from, I found the pink ribbon in my ribbon tangle!!!!

The inside of the handbag card is lacking in space for verse and sentiment, so I stuck the verse to the upper flap of the card and left the bottom part blank for the sentiment and signature.

A card like this qualifies for  a box...or in this case and envelope box made with my 'We are memory keepers' Envelope Punch board.

There are many tutorials on you tube that show you how to make these but I only found one that gave you the formula to make any size envelope box...click HERE

The front of the box HAD to have another flower and a place for the recipients name. I cut the mats from the spellbinders dies'Majestic labels 25', and Labels 25.
Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Gorjuss 'Puddles of love'

Post 39
Good morning blog land. Todays card is a generic card I made with the papers I had left over from the 'Card in a box'
My base card is black card stock cut to a 6 x 6  card. I cut the base card with Spellbinders 'Bracket Borders One'. On the inside of the card I stuck some green paper to show through the lattice when the card was closed.

The dies were used to cut another edge and a mat . The decorative strip was backed with white paper.

The stamp, 'Puddles of Love'  from Santoro's Gorjuss collection, was coloured with promarkers. To make it co ordinate with the papers I decided to paper piece her umbrella, coat and wellies.

The image was cut out with the largest sizzix 'Sassy label' die. The chevron paper was also cut with this die the cut in half and stuck to the back of the image to make it look like a mat.
The sentiment was also cut out from the sassy labels and matted onto black.

I cut the insert with the bracket borders to reflect the rest of the card.
Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Card in a box...

Post 38

Good afternoon crafty folk out there. The sky is grey the rain is coming down......it's a good day to get the stash out.
Recently on 'Pinterest' and 'you tube', all I've seen is the 'card in a box' . So today I thought I'd give it a go.
Here is the link to go to Monica Gales blog, you'll find the video tutorial on this page. This is the video which shows you the size of card I made.
This is a slightly smaller version of the original, and will fit (if I hadn't gone over the edges), in a standard C6 envelope.  The base is black Foundation cardstock,  matted onto that is some chevron paper I got from the Serif digikit 'Walnut Grove'. The other colour I chose to use was a vibrant green from Pink Petticoat called 'Crushed Pistachio'..lush!

The stamps I used are Creative Expressions ' Handbags Galore', I stamped and embossed these on the black cardstock , and on the green and chevron paper. They were all cut out, then I paper pieced the pattern paper on to the black bags.

They were stuck on the box, I was trying for a cascading effect!!!!!

On the front flap is the sentiment from the stamp set 'It's a girl thing!', this was cut using  Sizzix circle and label stitched framelits, Then matted onto some black.
The side flaps were decorated with cut outs of the smaller handbags Then to finish off we needed some ribbon and bling!!! Of course...gotta love self adhesive gems!

The back panel I left plain, for now. If the card gets used I will mat some white paper with a greeting on to it.

As you can see the card folds, fairly flat.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy Crafting .

Everyone loves flowers!

Post 37
Todays card is a lovely digi stamp from Mosdigital pencil. I love using some bright colours that I would usually keep away from , but these papers from Shabby Princess are just glorious.
I thought I'd base my card around another amazing sketch  from Jen. Click the sketch to link to the site.

 Deconstructed Sketch 135

For this challenge I decided to use this digistamp, she's called 'Sadie'. Coloured with my beloved promarkers.
The papers are a freebies  called 'Shabby Mommy'., from Shabby Princess. Don't you just love the pinks and oranges!!

I added some  'Sweet pea' flower soft , from Katy sue designs onto the potted flowers to add some dimension, it's not something I often use but it added some texture to the card.

The corner cried out for plant pots, so, searching my crafty stash I found these on a cd rom by Studio12 at Polkadoodles called 'Picknix collection 1' . The pots obviously needed flowers so I chose some     Sweetheart blossoms from Wild orchid crafts .

Everything was matted onto black to make it pop, then all doodled around to finish the card.
I thought I'd also enter this in Mo Mannings Challenge 'Lots of Layers',.....if the cap fits!!!!
Hope you like todays card.
Happy Crafting.

Bath time left overs.

Post 36
Todays card is the result of all the left overs I had from yesterdays card.
I always print two images when I'm using digi stamps. So she's in the bath again.

The base card is just plain black card stock. The image has been coloured with pro markers. I cut the image out using a spellbinders nestability die ( sorry I can't remember what it's called)

I cut a black mat in the same size as the image, I cut it in half, then stuck it on the reverse of the image with just the edges at the side showing. I know a faux nestie would work but my cutting skills are not that good.

The bow was made from some of the papers, from Pink Petticoat, I found a you tube video demonstrating how to make a bow using the envelope punch board, you'll find it HERE. I made my bow slightly smaller to look more appropriate for the card.

The label was matted just like the main image. The card needed that little something else....so of course the lovely bling had to come out again!

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Bath time girl!

Post 35
Todays card is once again using some Pink Petticoat paper and , also one of their digi stamps. The paper is some 'Autumn Blossons' and I think it's Lola Rose indulging in a bath.

The black base card is cut from Karen Burnistons bigz die, the accordian flip album. You can get an acompaning die to cut a mat for the surround and centre for the album, I don't have that I just cut the surround from the original die and trimmed the centre panel out, then just shaved of about 16th inch from each side so there would be a narrow black border. The centre panel mats are cut from the spellbinders dies 'Labels 1'.

The image is coloured with promarkers, and matted onto a faux nestie ( the next size nestability was far too big!!!!)

The wording on the card, I printed out when I printed my papers and image , there's always a small space on a piece of paper to fit a sentiment.
I cut the flowers from some of the pattern paper which I printed off in various sizes.
The back panels just have plain paper mounted on for sentiments and signatures.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.

Being 'Tree-mendous'

Post 34
Today's card just came to be because I happend upon a web site 'deconstructinjen', a designer of card and card sketches. So why not join in!!
The sketch for this challenge is , DS134....
to go to the page click here  click HERE to go to the page

I used some papers and an image from from Pink Petticoat, the paper is from a collection called 'Marshmallow'  and the image I've had for ages...I don't think it's still available.
I coloured the image with promarkers, and doodled around every layer!

The main image was then glittered with some 'Iced Candy' cosmic shimmer glitter.

I then opted for some ribbon and 3 'Sweetheart blossoms', with a little tag tucked in there.

The insert got the left overs, a smaller print of the original image, and the papers.

I just had enough of the pink for the main sentiment.

Hope you like todays card.
Happy Crafting.

By the way I can't post for the next couple of days...a girls gotta work!!!!

Hey Brother!!!

Post 33
Todays card is a ' Lets get ahead with the families birthday cards and not rush them like usual' card!!!! Ha!
This one is due to be handed out on the 3rd of Feb.....good start eh?

The image is from Mos Digital Pencil called 'King for the day'

The papers are from Pink Petticoat called 'Woodgrain' ( be quick it's retiring soon!!), the dark brown mat is also part of the solid colour collection from Pink Petticoat. I made a tab, using my new toy 'We are memory keepers envelope punch board' (Love it!!!), and stamped 'brother' onto it.

The image is coloured using promarkers. And cut out using Spellbinders Labels 1. The mat is a faux nestie as I only wanted a narrow mat around the image.

The happy birthday is also stamped and matted onto more decorative paper.

Inside is more paper and a small sentiment.

The card is finished off with self adhesive pearls and some ribbon.
Hope you like todays card.
Happy crafting.
